Veterinary medicine is a branch of medicine that is involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases, disorders and injuries. Some animal diseases can be transmitted to humans. Such diseases are called zoonotic diseases. They are caused by pathogens like viruses, fungi, parasites and bacteria.
