This is a Self Acceptance Picture Book, that promotes accepting individuality of oneself, including diversity in opinion and self-esteem, while fighting outside racism. The author of this book, Iesha Shaw, is an expert in early childhood education whose goal is to inspire children to pursue their goals regardless of the obstacles. The message of the author is that, it doesn't matter the color of your skin or where you come from, you got all the potential within you to achieve your goals in life. It makes no difference who you are. The author shares pictures of herself through out her life stages and even pictures of her family to show importance of self acceptance, self love and what these two have made it possible to attain many achievements in life regardless of societal challenges of racism. Being a black lady, the author wishes to inspire children especially the ones with black origin, the marginalized, and even the ones from humble backgrounds. She wants all children to embrace self acceptance, self love and to be encouraged that they can be whatever they wish to be in future. The way she made it, them too stand an equal chance. She also expresses her source of strength to overcoming all odds to be from her strong belief in the God of the Bible, Jesus Christ.
