Is a compilation of writings and thoughts of expressions expanding over the course of a decade and a half. Akili struggled as a young black youth to comprehend and articulate not only his own thoughts but also those of a wide range of complex issues and subject matter such as the following: ourstorical awareness, racism, slavery, self love, mass incarceration, politics, loneliness, poverty, family values, loyalty, betrayal, miseducation, capitalism & oppression to name a few. Not properly knowing where to begin his journey Akili began with self; knowledge of self! Embarking on a lifelong journey of independent research and study Akili began to express the above subject matters the best way he knew how, with a pen! Allow Akili to share his best part which is his mind with those who take the time to examine his work. Let it serve as an inspirational, educational and motivational tool to promote intellectual dialogue or to encourage someone to accomplish a goal/ dream that only you have held yourself back from achieving!
