Crossing the USA on a bicycle is a journey of discovery of this great country - at ten miles per hour! And when you do it from Boston, Massachusetts to Newport, Oregon, you have the added pleasure of going against the flow. Nowadays, there are probably dozens of people doing this on any given day, during the warm months, often in groups. This book is my story - crossing alone, self-supported, after I turned 65 years old. During the two summers of 2018 & 2019, I traveled through eleven states, encountering sun, rain, winds and even snow. I met many people, residents and travelers who showed me the many facets (most of them very good) of our great nation. This little book will hopefully convince you that riding in the rain, or the heat, or up a hill is very much worth the effort as you glimpse what lays beyond...
