Four men of markedly different worldviews embark on a sailing adventure. Three are close friends, one of whom has received the luxurious boat from a distant, deceased relative. The fourth is a recent and mysterious acquaintance named Paul. The voyage turns disastrous as their ship is first battered by enormous waves, and later stranded in the deadly calm of windless waters. Faced with the horror of isolation on the open ocean, the four men struggle desperately to survive against the elements. As the ordeal takes its terrible toll, however, each man faces the realization that they have but precious moments left to live. In order to save themselves and return to their families, the men must each open their eyes to God. They must transcend the boundaries of human speech and discover the language of heaven, the language of God Himself. This unflinching exploration of human faith and divine connection emphasizes that in the end, it is love that is the language of heaven. Only through this realization will each man find the strength to acknowledge a personal relationship with the divine and return to his home.
