James argued that Egypt was the true source of the Mystery teachings and therefore any claim to such origin by the ancient Greeks is not only dishonest, but must have been based on dishonest motives. "Stolen Legacy" was one of the first scholarly works that attempted to recover the "lost" history of early African civilization.
