Author Napoleon Thompson is no stranger to this knowledge, engaged to his beloved girlfriend of ten years who he has weathered some storms with in their relationship. Having suffered Stage 1 PTSD from his time in the armed service, Napoleon understands that relationships can go through more trials when one or both of the partners are not in a good place emotionally.

He stresses most that a person should know him/herself first before entering into a relationship, coming to terms with how God created the person to be so he/she can be comfortable in one's own skin.


Once the relationship begins, Napoleon then dissects common relationship issues that could damage the coupling of a man and woman: poor communication, forgiveness and commitment are among the discussed issues. He a lso devotes time to show the pros and cons of a long-distance relationship and a face-to-face relationship.

When one knows who he/she is in Christ, and has taken the time to know his/her partner as God does, a relationship can survive and thrive against any odds.
