This book begins with a conventional middle-class wartime family life and an education. Cambridge University in the 'golden' postwar period was certainly the place to be, where I met and knew poets, philisophers, scientists, artists, showbusiness people and even Royalty who continued to be a great part of my life as have many of the 'big-hitters' in the City of London where I built my career. My story is about a journey through three quarters of the 20th century....and beyond....... Cambridge, the fun and frivolity of the 1950s and 60s London scene, the huge changes in the City during the Thatcher years and finally, the tranquility and magnificence of the Sussex Downs.
