The few million survivors are mostly women forming global matriarch republics. The X-Terra project aims to extend the human family beyond the uncertainties of the Earth. Magnetic levitation, solar Dyson spheres, and wormholes provide trails to the stars. Moon and Mars tunnel-towns test home-making away from the Earth. The Visitors suggest we can go home again to Regulus, Sirius, and Orion. Visitors pop thoughts into our heads like soap-bubbles. We ask if Visitors are aliens, they suggest we look in a mirror to see aliens--all critters are aliens and family. When we request definite knowledge, Visitors suggest that searching is more important than finding. We ask about our rapid technological advances. Visitors suggest it's all the result of human searching and imagination. All Visitors admit to is hinting at directions. When we ask, Visitors suggest: that dog will hunt or that dog won't hunt. Is the invitation a Trojan horse or a true opportunity? We asked why the invitation was extended to matriarchs now and not patriarchs before the Cataclysm. Visitors said, if you think about it, you'll understand the reason.
