Tensions abound in Paradise where Rubenesque Williamette Yeager is beset by conflicts as imposing as the lava-rock island on which she's living. Her costume-shop business in Maui's upscale Plumeria Mall is successful, yet her true gratification is obtained only when she portrays Santa Claus, a myth created of love. "Our liabilities become our assets when used to help others," is her theme. But menacing phone threats and mysterious "accidents" are jeopardizing that position, as well as her life. Her history, a thinness-obsessed culture, and a petite mother, have convinced Will that she is 'too large to get a man," so romance is a myth for her. Yet, surprisingly, two men are battling for her attentions. Crushed by prior betrayal, she vowed never to lose her heart again, yet desire, longing for affection and attraction to each suitor endanger her resolve. Will aches for the handsome, charismatic VP, Noel Barrence, with the movie-star-looks and Christmas-carol name, who opposed her Santa employment, only hiring her after threat of a sex-discrimination lawsuit. Is he a well-intentioned suitor or the source of the intimidations? After three blissful sun-drenched days with Atillio Gagliardi, the fetching detective hired to investigate the threats, Will is unsure which one possesses her heart. Although, her yearnings for Tillio are tempered by the supposition that she is the real subject of his investigation. Clashes churn like a storm-tossed sea in a setting of magnificent coral reefs, sea-life, beach weddings, Luaus, and sunrises viewed atop a volcano, all famous for their mesmerizing effects. Hawaii's loving vibes and harmony of life-force, called the "Aloha Spirit," are challenged by the plus-sized conviction that one is "too-something" for love. Are they powerful enough to bring redemption from the self-limiting myths and inspire each soul to be better for an involvement with another?
