I don't believe I set out to become a stranger, certainly not a stranger to myself, and yet one day I had woken up and there I was; a stranger. I looked at myself in the mirror and I no longer understood anything about the person staring back at me. I had grown used to being the stranger, unknown in this new place and for this short time, but this brought a new complexity to my stranger-ness. For awhile I made that work for me and it certainly made things easier when I needed to wipe the slate clean and move on from where I was. However, somewhere deep inside there was a hint that at some point all of this was about to catch up to me and I was running out of time before I lost everything - again.
