St. Matthews Presbyterian Church was founded on Dec. 16, 1906. Though never large in number, the congregation has persevered through the years, overcoming every obstacle. It remains today, the only Presbyterian church in St. Matthews and Calhoun County, South Carolina. Based on church records and illustrated with over 50 photographs, this history chronicles the pastors, elders, members and significant events over the past 110 years.
