You meet some people in life and have constant contact with them, even develop relationships with but rarely see them in the flesh. Modern communications allows even more distance between people. Even one's co-workers pass in the hall, IM each other, and otherwise keep to themselves. May be the best way to stay relevant is to become noticed or popular above the rest. I wouldn't mind the notoriety, to be "known" for something. It's kind of a leap for an introvert, but then again, looks at all the relationship work you don't have to do! One day I'll see my name in lights, or win the lottery. Then I'll be everyone's best friend...right now I'll just have to email.
