In the spring of 2014 Mike's life was tumbling out of control. It seemed to be plagued by the effects of divorce that led to self-destructive behavior, unhappiness, and loneliness. It caused him to feel lost and in a state of perpetual desperation. A friend asked him to go on a mission trip to Haiti and because of Mike's decision to go, his life was changed. He would later discover that those that he intended to help, were actually the ones who helped him. This experience changed his views on virtually everything in his life through a series of unexpected experiences that took place in the most unanticipated ways.
