The book sets out to help persuade you to spend more time to explore the rich diverse environment that exists beyond its Industrial heritage and museums of the Iron Gorge. The walks have been specially selected to provide walkers with a variation in landscape and vistas of some of the most excellent countryside in the U. K. The Iron Gorge is a particularly nice example of a reclaimed industrial site which has been transformed back to nature. It now provides a unique and beautiful wooded valley, this leaves the Gorge covered with a network of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes. Once you go beyond the Iron Gorge you have the sheer beauty of Shropshire to explore, with its medieval towns, spectacular scenery and the historical sites that date back over 2,000 years.
