The Ghosts of Yearning is a gothic novella partially inspired by The Sixth Sense, The Notebook, and The Turn of the Screw. It centers on the lives of three women--the lonely, elderly Maisie; the fiercely independent Helen, who is haunted by a young specter in her compulsively appointed home; and Mona, whose awkward obsession with her handsome neighbor threatens her sanity. Their lives cross the boundaries of the real and the unreal as this short story slowly reveals how nearly every word is as important as the individual pieces of an interlocking puzzle.
