A bedtime story book for adults. When she was eight years old, my daughter asked me one night at bedtime, "Were you ever bad when you were growing up, Mama?" This is not a book meant as a morality tale, though it certainly can become one if you choose. Life happens and sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. That's for later if some of you have the misfortune to grow up to become poets or writers. Too often kids are told to stay kids and too often we're told to keep that mystical whatever it is thing going for them. As adults we're told to stop being kids and 'grow up' whatever that means. These are bedtime stories for all of us. Kids who want to be adults and adults who are still kids.
