Jonathan finally gets the "best friend" he has longed for. A brand new puppy, Archie. When Archie goes missing, Jonathan gets help from family and friends, to find him. Jonathan never gives up hope that Archie will return home. Archie's adventures in the months that follow are mixed with joy and sorrow. Although he experiences many new and interesting things he always comes back to realize how important his friendship with Jonathan is. The story is of Archie's many adventures in his pursuit of returning to his "best friend".
