Sally in Downing Street...

Sally Smart is as surprised as anyone when she wins a competition to be 'embedded' in 10 Downing Street for a week.

Why would a young journalist, more likely to be found writing about first-kiss technique for Poppy magazine, be chosen to spy on the corridors of power for the nation?

But Sally's blonde charms and vivacious personality have always opened doors - and got her into trouble.

After seven days Sally is in possession of some very hot knowledge about the Prime Minister. Warned that her life is in danger, she commits her story to silicon as 'insurance'.

Sally with the rich and famous...

Sally's second journal tells the story of her weekend with her wayward celebrity idol, Flick Boboco-Flèche, when she learns more dangerous secrets.

Boboco Hall and its gardens are as dreamy in the shimmering heat as in the cool moonlight. But it's the antics of Flick's family, and a collection of A to Z-list houseguests - not to mention Sally herself - that make it the most intoxicating 36 hours of her life.

Sally and the future of Britain...

The final journal finds Sally - with a new role as PA to a top government scientist, and a part-time spy - bent on self-improvement.

Her love life to date is a single sheet of A4 while her sex life is a bulging folder. This has to change...

Meanwhile, the weather is seriously weird. Suddenly everyone's talking about climate change again. As intrigues unfold, it seems the part she plays - like the flap of the butterfly's wings - is set to affect the very future of the country...
