Daughter Moon: Veil of Worlds - Book 1 Tracy M. Robinson

The land of Tel'era is without a Magus, and a dark power is taking the souls of shamans. It's time for Talmet the Mystic Weaver to call her True Magus home. Darkness has spread in Tel'era, and a True Magus is needed to strengthen the light. With the appearance of Talmet's moon, heralding the arrival of a True Magus, Abby finds herself suddenly and inexplicably cast in this unfamiliar role. She wonders...if she had known what would happen when she opened the strange leather-bound book-a book that only a True Magus can understand and master-would she have done it? Abby sighs. Tel'era is changing and what-ifs don't matter. She is here now and she needs to learn how to be the Magus everyone already believes she is. The Darkness is getting stronger, in the form of Nephin the Dark Magus, an Abyss Dragon reborn, and Aphara, a Rune Sage bent on carving a large chunk of Tel'era for her own. With the help of a young Lukye Shaman and Koda, a bereaving mother-turned-warrior, Abby must face this evil and, with the Guardian Spirits help, defeat it. Abby knows the final battle will be hers alone. But first she must come to terms with who she is and find what was lost. Daughter Moon is an outstanding debut novel that creates a complex and compelling world of myth, magic, and monsters.
