Recovering Vigilance Bill Jouppi

This project is not an original story. That is to say it is not exclusively my original story. This is the story Solomon told in Proverbs One through Nine. He received much of it from his father King David. Solomon told it to his son Rehoboam. Likely it was passed from father to son for many generations. Perhaps it was passed down to a carpenter in Nazareth named Joseph who perhaps told it to a son he did not father. Perhaps Joseph told it to the Son who is the fulfillment of wisdom. I don?t think it is too far a stretch to think that Jesus, from his youth, listened to the wisdom of Joseph and Mary. The words they spoke to him likely included the words of David and Solomon?words similar to those written here. This telling of the story is set in the City of Vigilance in recent times. It is my hope that the reader will find that it is being told again in his or her life. It is my prayer that the thoughts of David and Solomon may find relevance in the present. May those of us who are older be diligent in seeing that the next generation receives wisdom that has been entrusted to us. I pray the younger generation be encouraged to seek and find Jesus, the source of true wisdom. May we all be encouraged to continue in the process of Recovering Vigilance.
