Mysterious Morris himself is charged with investigating and solving cats' problems that arise within the neighbourhood of Blackberry Drive where, assisted by his loyal band of 'merry mogs', he rights wrongs, restores and maintains order. Each poem is the tale of one of Morris's cases; sometimes protecting the local cats, sometimes meeting their needs in ways their 'minders' might disapprove of, sometimes solving puzzling events, and even on occasion marshalling his friends to protect the unaware Blackberry Drive humans. We enter the world of Mysterious Morris as outsiders, gaining insight into the remarkable lives cats lead, even as they remain to us just our cosy, cuddly, purring pets.
