JILL: About 30. Never married. Had a few short-lived relationships since graduating from college as a landscape architect. Bright and emotionally together. Well-educated, proprietor of a small successful landscape and gardening business. Own and live in an enchanted little house on a 100-acre farm. Desires a relationship with a man who has similar values and will not suffer the company of a man whose values conflict with mine. Manage my solitude creatively and will not date for the sake of dating. Prefer a male with whom I could commune with spiritually: a good sense of humour; a bit "nuts" to be interesting and fun but otherwise sensible and stable, financially and emotionally self-sufficient, kind and good hearted. Raised by a single-parent mother, an elementary school teacher. About 5'5". Dark brown eyes, auburn hair to my shoulders--a few gray flecks-- that I cut by myself. Not considered attractive and about 35-45 pounds over weight, healthy and strong from doing physical labour. JACK: About 32, single, never married. Well educated, an English major, but prefer my career as a firefighter which gives me time to follow my passion of writing. About 5'10", lean and trim, in good physical condition. Eat intelligently and exercise regularly. Have a strong sense of self from my spiritual beliefs which I live by. Decisive! When appropriate, a great sense of humour especially when I "let go". Raised by a single-parent mother; helped financially by working after school during the school term and on construction during the summer. Was an honour student and on full scholarship throughout college. They met on a blind date, chary at first, quickly discovered the very essence of themselves. No game-playing, fell in love, had kids and a good life. In writing this novel, I found that I was close to my emotions: I laughed, cried, became aroused and hope that the readers will enjoy similar emotions.
