Researches into the History of the British Dog Form Ancient Laws, Charters, and Historical Records - Volume Two
George R. Jesse
Originally published in 1866 in two volumes. An extremely important early dog book. It contains many hundreds of original anecdotes and illustrations of the nature and attributes of the dog, gleaned from the poets and prose writers of ancient, medieval and modern times. A detailed record of the history of British dogs which will prove of great interest to all who own one of Man's best friends. Many of the earliest dog books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Home Farm Books are republishing many of these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
