Judy, at age 13 is working on an island as a mother's helper during the summer. Judy and Ray fall in love and marry after Judy completes her nursing education. As a family Judy and Ray continue to enjoy the island. Judy has not yet discovered the mystery of her passivity and Ray's dominance in their relationship. The distance between them widens after retirement. Judy desperately hopes to save their marriage. Judy navigates her way through the flotsam of a marriage wreck when she returns to an educated environment.
