A Moment in Shade is a collection of poetry that was written after experiencing and battling depression for several years. Most of the poetry was written from fiction. I never experienced a lot of the subject matter in real life. Like love and passion. In my life I have never been in love or even experienced the passion and sentiment shared in some of these poems. Most, of these poems come from my ideas of what love, heartache, and betrayal would feel like. Like, the satisfaction of attraction in "I Lusted for You". Although, very emotional the books also has a lighter side. Like the combination of candies to make one sweet poem in "Sweet Treat". But, some of the poetry does come from my personal feelings like "I Dread my Bones". Which, speaks on the idea of self-image and the trials that we tend to put our mind and bodies through. The whole strength in this book is the idea of coming out of situations and certain emotions and bringing yourself through to and transitional point. Heavy in emotion and full of spirit this book is sure to bring back a memory, or, even create a new one.
