At age 80, Linda takes the time to look back at her life, forgiving painful memories and choosing to remember the good ones. She recalls her life as ordinary, but after reading her stories, one realizes that her life was really exceptional. In spite of her fear of traveling and storms, she lived in many faraway places like Iceland and Bermuda and took care of her husband and kids throughout her life. Linda's Story is a short memoir that reads like a conversation between two close friends, which in fact it is. Bit by bit, via her flip phone, Linda shared her life story with the author, G. H. Ashenfelter, who is Linda's friend and also her sister-in-law. Ashenfelter tries to write in a voice that remains true to Linda's voice and memories.
