Jake is working overseas in Singapore and reaches out to an old friend working as a dive instructor in Thailand for a weekend stopover. Bending between revelry and reality, Jake follows his friend's lifestyle with whimsical abandon. The fantastical painted picture of his friend's "island life" dispels itself with the day's end. This longer-than-short (novella) short story touches on some of the absurd experiences coexisting in the same space separated by just a doorway or a few dollars.
