Dead-Eye Samantha is a fictionalized account of life during the Civil War and the years of the Reconstruction in the rural South. Samantha is taken into captivity as a child by a family determined to maintain its grip on the illegal profits demanded by its leader. Samantha grows into adulthood in the turmoil of the Civil War, and in the aftermath comes to realize her need to confront the turmoil within. How can she bring her clan to justice when it's the only family she's ever known?
