Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote, "Those who once saw the sky of Palermo will never be able to forget it." And, believe us, he was absolutely right. Palermo is the capital of Sicily, a beautiful island immersed in the Mediterranean Sea and also a region of Italy. Beautiful sea, amazing mountains, and a lot of green will surround you. Don't forget about food, which is so unique. Did you know that Sicilian food is considered as one of the most tasty and interesting over all the world? And what about art? Even this is an interesting topic, because in Palermo you'll find every possible kind of art. That's because Palermo, in his whole history, has been conquered by a lot of different populations. This fact, during the years, has shaped the city with an interesting variety of different arts, styles of building, and obviously a multi shaded culture. Palermo has been disputed by more populations during history for his strategic position. From this fact we can understand why his historical name from greek period was "Panormus," etymologically Pan (whole) and Hòrmos (Port). In fact, is very difficult to find another meeting point like Palermo, because his position was at the center of the world. For our luckiness, having a walk through the historic center we'll be able to admire marvelous building, breathing this absolutely fantastic mix of different cultures survived till our days; probably, all this diversity, but at the same time even homogeneity is the real unique factor of Palermo.
