This book is an illustrated guide to events that led to today's spectacular vision of the Shrine of the Báb and its garden terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. For members of the Bahá'í Faith around the world, the Shrine is a site of pilgrimage, the holiest place in the world apart from the Shrine of Bahá'u'lláh across the bay. It is inscribed on the World Heritage List as part of the cultural heritage of humanity. The Shrine is the mausoleum of the prophetic figure known as the Báb.
