Sentimental Journey: an Illustrated Time Travel Romance Linda Lauren

The difference between twenty-four hours and twenty-four years is obvious. Changing the past is impossible because it has already taken place. The present is really all we have? or is it? Sentimental Journey by Linda Lauren is an illustrated time travel romance novel filled with humor and adventure akin to the writing style of the Jack Finney classic, Time and Again. Set in 1992, Allison McKay works for a pharmaceutical company that is about to give a press release announcing a cure for the common cold. Even though this medical breakthrough has yet to be tested, Allison takes the medicine in hopes that her own nasty symptoms will be gone in the promised twenty-four hours. Not only are her symptoms gone, but she finds herself back in time to the year 1969! Could this twenty-four hour cold relief capsule have transported her back twenty-four years, or is she dreaming? When she returns to her present time, with her cold in tow, she shares her experience with the doctors who mention a forty-eight hour capsule that is also being tested. Desperate for relief from her nagging ailments and seeing this as a possible way to test her time travel theory, Allison takes this second capsule, only to find herself in the year 1944 in the midst of World War II. People she knew in her present time are now forty-eight years younger. She finds herself caught between times and desperately wants to stay in 1944. Where does she truly belong? Follow our heroine as she travels through time to meet the karmic love of her life and defeat a rival for his affections before she loses him forever and becomes lost to both times. Lauren?s Sentimental Journey is a captivating adventure of romance with a surprising ending that makes readers think twice about the possibility of time travel.
