The Disappearance (The Truth Beauty Trilogy, Book 2) T. V. Locicero

One of the UK's top reviewers favorably compared this trilogy's opener, The Obsession, with the best-selling smash hit Gone Girl. Now with Book 2, The Disappearance, the dark, edgy saga continues. In Geneva, Italian scholar Lina Lentini is caught up in the shadowy world of Swiss banking. Schemes of betrayal and murder begin to surface when her friend Clara, a bank employee, disappears. Clara's American lover Marc joins Lina in a desperate search, but they find only mysteries until they head to a quiet island in the Bahamas. There a stunning turn that no one sees coming changes everything.

Like The Obsession, The Disappearance has complex, sharply drawn characters and shocking twists. This is another compelling read with a powerful payoff. Look for Book 3, The Tryst, in 2015.
