A Collection of Contemporary and Abstract Poetry Michael Sardo

Contemporary abstract poetry . A style which allows the writer the freedom to create words from sounds, music, colors, images, and environmental surroundings. The artist or sculptor, with his hands, uses canvas, paints, paper, clay, and a welding torch to make his statement to the world. A composer uses notes, scales, sharps, flats, and musical instruments to display his art. A poet works and plays with the written word.

This book contains not only poems, but graphics, to enhance hidden meanings in the verses. All kinds of poetic forms are used throughout this collection.

Many of the scenes take place in Brooklyn, New York, Manhattan, and the outlying areas of St. Louis, and neighboring counties. The time span covers the early fifties to the present year 2000.

This volume expresses tenderness, love, and reality not only to people, but also to animals. The 21st century poet in this book grapples with pain, heartache and disappointment. Humor, joy and hope are also a part of this work.
