'Bud!' a.k.a. 'The Amazing Bud Powell (Vol. 3)' was originally released in 1957 on 'Blue Note' featuring Paul Chambers on bass, Art Taylor on drums and trombonist Curtis Fuller guesting on three tracks. Perhaps the real gem on this album is the piano intro to "Bud on Bach", Bud is a whirlwind of aggressive technical virtuosity here. 'Time Waits' a.k.a. 'The Amazing Bud Powell (Vol. 4)' is (also) a Rudy Van Gelder session featuring Sam Jones on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums. "Buster Rides Again", Vol. 4's opener, may be one of his greatest cuts ever. The mid-tempo afro-latin groove pushes Powell to playing explosive rhythmic tone clusters, and the energy between Philly Joe and Powell is uncanny. Including are 4 bonus tracks.
