Cedar Walton Trio

The Trio 3 Cedar Walton Trio Limited, Remastered edition

REMASTERED FROM ORIGINAL ANALOGUE TAPES. These records, however, must be regarded as three inseparable chapters of an opera omnia that becomes a kind of educational encyclopaedia of the piano trio. In ‘The Trio Vol.3’ recorded the following year in Milan, compared to the previous volumes, the pianist still offers a stellar performance of some of his best-known compositions and interpretations. Walton plays in pure bop style with brisk, crisp and kinetic solos that alone are worth the price of the ride. In this latest volume, the pianist nails the perfect repertoire for a jazz evening that is never predictable or boring: bebop with blues blood, a couple of originals, a bossa nova and non-trivial standards.
