'Fools Gold' is without a doubt one of the seminal musical moments of the "Manchester" era... The track first appeared on a rare DJ promo as the AA side to "What The World Is Waiting For" the latter being pushed as the main track. This turned out to be the record company's folly though as "Fools Gold" soon became the most sought after track in Clubland and Indieville alike, crossing over onto the coolest club dance floors the length and bredth of Britain... whilst remaining stuck to the floors of every student union... The single has charted no less than five time since its release and looks set to do the same again... presented here in its original 9:53 mix with bonus mixes from A Guy Called Gerald and Grooverider.
