Ambient Rockers **Anathema** are back with their eleventh full-length, that will soon reveal some of the darkest, most challenging and unexpected music the sextet have put their name to. Led by brothers **Daniel** and **Vincent Cavanagh**, along with drummer **John Douglas**, singer **Lee Douglas**, bassist **Jamie Cavanagh** and keyboardist **Daniel Cardoso**, the band began recording *'The Optimist'* in Donegal, Ireland and then finished in Glasgow with producer **Tony Doogan** (*Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Super Furry Animals*) at the helm. The idea for *'The Optimist'* was born from the front cover artwork of the band's 2001 album *'A Fine Day To Exit'*.

This deluxe 4-disc 56-page earbook of *'The Optimist'* that includes the CD, DVD, Blu-ray as well as a bonus CD featuring demos and live recordings. Mastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios in London, engineered by Kevin Burleigh, and 5.1 mixing from Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief).
