Nietzchka Keene writes and directs this Icelandic historical fantasy drama based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale. After their mother is stoned and burned to death as a witch, sisters Margit (Björk) and Katla (Bryndis Petra Bragadóttir) flee, searching for a place where no one knows them. They find a home with widower Jóhann (Valdimar Örn Flygenring) and his son Jónas (Geirlaug Sunna Thormar), but their mother wasn't the only one with powers and magic can be dangerous.
