Irène Jacob stars in this French drama co-written and directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski. Two young women, both called Veronica (Jacob), seem to share a single existence, albeit in different countries. Polish singer Weronika sees her French double, Veronique, taking her picture at a political rally but dies the next day.

In France, Veronique feels a strange sense of loss but it takes many twists of fate to help her discover why - and even then the outcome is unclear.
