This heartwarming picture book is the adventure of a young boy, Ian McGee, who has to cope with the death of his father. He and his mother are faced with sudden hardship and poverty. His dream for his father to teach him to become a pilot dissolves in despair. This tragedy also destroys his social status and neighborhood friendships. Then, a great thing happens to Ian McGee. He is rescued by a blue wing flying machine. Is it a dream or does it really happen? This is the first of Dr. April's musical plays that was adapted for print as story number 29 in the Zany Zebra Collection for creative children of all ages.
