Lacey loves her family, her farm, and dancing. Although she doesn't realize it, Lacey is the strongest dancer in Luther High School for the Arts. She is given a once in a lifetime opportunity to dance with a professional company in Kansas City over the summer. It is her summer program that teachers her just how strong she is, and can be. Lacey battles more than just her insecurities as she her classmates show their true colors. Lacey becomes the object of ridicule and has to fight the jealousy of others. Through her trials, she learns who her true friends are, those who will celebrate her success.
