Rachel St. Claire, an attractive and successful matrimonial attorney, gets involved with a married man. Rachel throws caution away when she meets handsome, wealthy, and successful businessman Michael Parrish. He is still married but in the process of ending his long-term marriage. Michael tries to peacefully and amiably deal with his aggressive and angry wife while pursuing a romantic relationship with Rachel. Stephen Monsell, who happens to be Michael's brother-in-law, hires Rachel's law firm to handle his divorce. Rachel does not find out that Michael and Stephen are related until the night Stephen is gunned down while jogging in a park near Michael's home. The horrific incident becomes the debut of aggressive, accusatory, and sizzling exchanges between Michael and Rachel and could end their love affair.
