Frankenstein

Considered the initiator of science fiction, published in 1818 and framed in the tradition of the Gothic novel. The story is located in the Europe of the eighteenth century and in full scientific effervescence. The captain of a whaling ship writes to his sister Margaret about his vicissitudes and his encounter with the dark scientist Victor Frankenstein, who in search of the secret of life and without measuring the consequences that this will bring him, creates a new being with parts of other beings dead humans. In Frankenstein the narrative possibilities offered by the old controversy about the construction of automata, a topical issue among scientists who disputed over the ethical reasons for knowledge, are preferred. In the novel, Dr. Frankenstein ends up dominated by his creature and, with his invention, gives literary form to one of the modern myths with the greatest popular roots.
