The history of Islam concerns the political, social, economic and cultural developments of Islamic civilization. Most historians accept that Islam originated in Mecca and Medina at the start of the 7th century CE. Muslims regard Islam as a return to the original faith of the prophets, such as Jesus, Solomon, David, Moses, Abraham, Noah and Adam, with the submission (islam) to the will of God.


The early portion of the Koran, known as the "Meccan Revelations" reveals similarities to the Essene "Thanksgiving Scroll," as discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls, and to the Manichean Bema ceremony, particularly in the Cologne Mani Codex. The Essene text was used in the "Feast of the Renewal of the Covenant" and became the Bema, or "empty throne" ritual. Both were similar "Pentecostal" initiation ceremonies and they became the spark of the Koranic revelation as the "Night of Power."...
