From the Acknowledgement section: I would like to thank my mother for not throwing away my father's twenty-five-year-old box of papers and trinkets and bequeathing it to me instead so I could learn about him. Based on the tone of my father's writing, the quantity of poems that he kept, and the amount that he feverishly put down on paper just before he passed away, it seems that he would have wanted his writing to be published at some point in time. I hope that by sharing these works I am fulfilling his wishes.
