This book is a tribute to my mother Pauline Reed, who is the anchor of this story. After my sudden Covid -19 diagnosis in March 2020, life shifted for me forever. I didn't realize that survival and recovery would come at such a cost. Willing myself to live for weeks was one of the most difficult experiences I have had to face. However, my story doesn't end there. Shortly after my diagnosis my family was impacted: my mother, father and sister all contracted the disease. A close knit family now facing the narrative of distant choices at death's door are the perils my family endured. I dare to be honest by sharing my continual journey of Healing & Hope believing it will deliver others. My story unpacks the deep struggles with grief, survivor's guilt, unanswered questions, unable to talk to God, my compulsive obsessions developed from Covid 19, misinformation amongst African Americans, the blessing of my daughter and niece who keep me going, thoughts of suicide, heartache from seeing her dad grapple through life without his wife, but the most pivotal moment are the lessons learned and legacy earned from this event.
