"On Earth As It Is In Heaven" is a sequel to the author's previous book on social justice ministry in faith communities. This book offers readers the opportunity to explore four specific topic areas: (1) How to organize an effective and sustainable social justice ministry within a faith community" called "The Organizing Approach Model"; (2) A concentrated focus on the often misunderstood, confusing and sometimes feared faith-based ministry of "social change"; (3) An examination of the critical role of social justice ministry "Formation" along with the author's recommendation about the best formation process in the field; and, (4) A clear, common sense set of principles that shape a proposed "Spirituality of Social Justice Ministry" that can keep ministry leaders and practitioners on the right path as they cultivate a closer, deeper relationship with God through the ministry. Along the way, readers will discover answers to some important questions that challenge all social justice ministry champions. Much of the content utilizes a "skills training" format... like participating in leadership training sessions. In addition, a manual format style is offered if there is a desire to duplicate parts of the manuscript. The content is realistic, functional, and workable because it has been field-tested by the author and the thousands of ministry leaders and practitioners who have gone through his trainings.
