One thousand years ago, before Europeans first set foot in the western hemisphere, Native people enjoyed a rich culture of trade, religion, war, and conquest as well as building massive earth mounds and structures. They were farmers who settled down to cultivate vast fields of maze, squash, and beans. Lone Owl began his adventures as a boy of twelve. He was sent by the elders to go on his vision quest. He chose to see the Great River in the Mississippi River valley. His village when he returned had been raided by warriors leaving him orphaned.
