Many have grown up with the idea that God is primarily a God of deprivation, a God of rules and regulations who needs to be appeased in order to love us, otherwise we bring his punishment and condemnation upon ourselves. God is Love. This does not make him some sort of sweet sugary God, but rather, because he does love us, he wants us to know his love, and in this love, to walk with him in the Truth. He wants us to be free from sin and the effects of sin which bind us and make us prisoners in the darkened cell of self. Restored in Christ hopes to open the deep inner doors of our broken selves to allow the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Love and Truth, to enter and to delve into the journey of healing. Jesus came to save us not only from sin, but from the effects of sin, from the distortions that have wounded us in our lives, and to restore us to the heart and love of the Father. Our own Father-image has been distorted because of the wounds we bear deep within. Some of these wounds may be seen, but others lie buried in the depth of our inner hearts and minds. Jesus has come to set us free so that each one of us may grow in His love and be restored into the person the Lord has created us and called us to be. We are called to come and to live out of our true being. This book can help you begin that life.
